BABC Annual Transatlantic Business Conference: Strategies for Success in Tomorrow's Economy. 15th-17th May 2013 ICC Birmingham |
Once a year the BABC brings together members of all its 23 chapters throughout the UK and North America at its Annual Transatlantic Business Conference, for a 2-day program of high-level business discussions and networking with business executives actively involved in transatlantic business. The conference has previously been held in the cities of New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Edinburgh, Washington and San Francisco. The business programme of the conference will include a line-up of senior business executives, governmental decision-makers and leading opinion-formers (e.g. influential editors). In creating this program, BABC will draw on its close relationships with the British Government, Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, Birmingham City Council, US Embassy London, and UK Trade & Investment, as well as major multinational companies and media. The theme of the conference will be ‘Strategies for Success in Tomorrow’s Economy’ – Design, Advanced Manufacturing & Professional Services. Keynote speakers and experts will be invited to the conference to provide an insight into these areas. The social and cultural program will include a welcome reception at the Symphony Hall with a special concert performed by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra on Wednesday 15th May 2013. On the evening of Thursday 16th May a high-end Gala Dinner will take place in the Banqueting Suite at the Birmingham Council House (with a pre-dinner reception in the Round Room) and we are anticipating that both a senior Cabinet Minister and/or the US Ambassador will be present. On Monday 10th June BABC will be hosting a dinner event in Central Leeds. The event will consist of a three course meal with wine and coffee and gives a chance to network with like-minded individuals from the region. It is also a great opportunity to discuss the region's business and US/UK developments.

"US Trade Mission" October TBC Locations: TBA |
October will see BABC Yorkshire, in association wiht UKTI, leading a Trade Mission to the East Coast of the US. The exact locations and details are TBA. The Mission is expected to last for one week with introductions and events organised for some days with the remaining days to be used by each individual in their own capacity to research and network.
